Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 19, 2026 · Applies to Reminders+ version 1.0.6 for iPhone and iPad and to this website.
1. Summary
- Reminders+ has no user accounts, no advertising and no tracking or analytics SDKs. The app's privacy manifest declares that no data is collected.
- Your tasks, projects, routines and settings are stored on your device.
- We, the operators of Reminders+, do not run servers that receive your app data.
- Optional features that involve Apple services (iCloud Sync, App Store purchases) are processed by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.
- This website uses Vercel for hosting and privacy-friendly, cookie-free Vercel Web Analytics.
2. Controller
The controller responsible for data processing within the meaning of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the operator named in our Impressum. You can reach us at the email address listed there or via our Contact page.
3. The Reminders+ App
3.1 Data stored on your device
Everything you create in the app (tasks, notes, projects, routines, streaks, settings) is stored locally on your device. This data is not transmitted to us. It is deleted when you delete the app, unless you have enabled iCloud Sync or created a backup yourself.
3.2 iCloud Sync (optional, Plus)
If you enable iCloud Sync, your tasks and projects are synced across your Apple devices through your own iCloud account using Apple CloudKit. The data is stored in your private iCloud database, which we as developers cannot access. If CloudKit is temporarily unavailable, the app falls back to Apple's iCloud key-value storage in your account. Apple is responsible for this processing; see Apple's Privacy Policy (opens in a new tab). You can turn sync off at any time in the app settings.
3.3 AI Assist (optional, Plus)
AI Assist uses Apple's on-device Foundation Models (Apple Intelligence). Your requests and the tasks Assist works with are processed on your device and are not sent to us or to any third-party AI provider.
3.4 Permissions
The app only asks for these permissions when you use the related feature. You can change them at any time in iOS Settings.
- Calendars and Reminders: to import events from Apple Calendar and reminders from Apple Reminders into your tasks. Imported items are stored locally like any other task.
- Location (while using the app): to suggest your current place when you add a location to a task. The location is stored only with that task on your device.
- Notifications: to remind you of due tasks and, if you turn it on, to send a daily summary. Notifications are scheduled locally on your device. The app badge count is also calculated on your device.
3.5 Widgets and app icon
Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets read your streak and today's tasks from a shared storage area on your device. If you choose an app icon in your accent color, iOS switches the icon locally. No data leaves your device for this.
3.6 Purchases
The Plus upgrade (monthly subscription or lifetime purchase) is sold through Apple's App Store. Payment is handled entirely by Apple; we do not receive your payment details. The app only checks with the App Store whether a purchase is active. See Apple's Privacy Policy (opens in a new tab).
3.7 Data export, backup and restore
You can export all your tasks, projects and settings as a JSON file from the app settings at any time, free of charge. With Plus you can also restore a backup file you pick from your device. Where you store or share these files is up to you; we do not receive them.
3.8 Crash reports
If you have agreed to share analytics with app developers in iOS Settings, Apple may provide us with anonymized crash reports and usage statistics through App Store Connect. You can change this under Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
Because app data stays on your device or in your own iCloud account, you can view, export and delete it yourself in the app at any time. For anything else, contact us using the details in our Impressum.
